Working with JISC

November 16, 2010

One of the good things about JISC funding has been the value received from meeting people who have similar requirements and sharing information with them.  This has included staff who are running other JISC projects, attendees at our workshops, JISC staff, and contacts made through these people.

We have been busy with a number of bids for the latest round of calls including one investigating research clusters/themes/groups.  We have partnered with other organisations in bids for CRISPool 2 (looking at CERIF data exchange) and exchange of data with Research Council’s.  In addition our Alumni Development Office have submitted a bid for a CRM project.

I hope some of these come to fruition but if not I am still very interested in all of these topics.

Will update the blog when we hear.

Regards

Valerie

Customer Relationship Management

September 23, 2010

Here at GU we have a CRM System and a programme of work to improve how institutional contacts and events can be shared via this core system.

The system supports a range of individual and organisational contact types.  This includes alumi and business contacts.

As part of our on-going drive to improve integration we have been thinking about how to better join up the data from different parts of the University.  I am looking at the Research applications and awards and there is also currently a drive being led by staff in Careers, Recruitment, Corporate Communications and Museums.

What has this got to do with Research Outputs?  Lots of the activities e.g. public lectures and school visits are outputs that Research Councils, the REF and others require information about.
