Software for Research Excellence Exercise

December 22, 2010

During the Enquire project we have successfully developed a Research Excellence Framework version of the ePrints RAE add-on (developed as part of the JISC funded IRRA Project)

We have been liaising with ePrints staff at Southampton and plan to upgrade the RAE add-on to ensure it is fully compatible with EPrints 3.x as it was developed in version 2.   We have also identified further developments which would be of benefit to the wider community.  For example we have identified some reporting enhancements which would be useful as a result of its extensive recent use for our internal Mini REF exercise. The software would be made freely available to all and we will publicise widely via our blog and networks.

Several HEI’s are very interested in working with this software and we have already provided some with advice and/or our locally modified code.

We plan to hold a workshop on the work of Enrich and Enquire in February and this will be advertised soon on this blog.

In addition William Nixon will be giving a presentation on this work at the RSP Winter School http://www.rsp.ac.uk/events/winter-school-2011/ and doing a couple of breakout sessions on this the UK Serials Group Conference in April 2011.
